NOVEMBER AT TCY πŸ¦ƒπŸ§‘

Showing Up. Giving Thanks. And Holding On for Dear Life.

Hi everyone!

HAPPY NOVEMBER! πŸ¦ƒπŸ

Wait. NOVEMBER?! How did THAT happen?!

I swear we were just complaining about the summer heat, and now we’re talking about Thanksgiving, holiday schedules, and whether it’s socially acceptable to start decorating for Christmas. (I’m not judging. You do you. πŸ˜‚)

Anyway…November.

I always think of November as the month of gratitude. And while I love a good reminder to be thankful, I’ve been thinking about something a little different this year.

Showing up.

Because here’s the thing. Showing up isn’t always easy.

Some days you feel strong, motivated, organized, and ready to conquer the world.

Other days? You’re just trying to remember why you walked into the kitchen. πŸ˜‚

I think we sometimes forget that BOTH versions of ourselves deserve a little credit.

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately, especially when it comes to our yoga practice.

We talk about being present, finding balance, letting go of expectations, and meeting ourselves where we are. Beautiful concepts. Easy to say while standing on a yoga mat.

A little harder when life gets messy, your to-do list is ridiculous, and you’re wondering if you can squeeze 30 hours into a 24-hour day.

(Asking for a friend. πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ)

But maybe that’s exactly why we practice.

Not to become these perfectly balanced, peaceful humans who never get overwhelmed, but to get a little better at finding our way back when we do.

And THAT’s what I love about this community.

You show up.

You show up when you’re feeling great, when you’re tired and even when life is busy. You show up for your health, your strength, your sanity, and sometimes just because you know you’ll feel better afterward. (…and to avoid being charged a cancellation fee…IYKYK)

You show up for each other, which is pretty cool!

Speaking of showing up…it’s officially PLANKSGIVING! πŸ¦ƒπŸ’ͺ

Our annual celebration of core strength, determination, and apparently finding the most ridiculous places possible to hold a plank.

Oma is back. Coach Mookie has competition. Dennis is still planking in jeans. And our front desk team has apparently decided to take things to a whole new level. πŸ˜‚

More on that below!

So this November, let’s celebrate showing up.

Not perfectly. Not every single day. Not because we HAVE to.

But because taking care of ourselves matters. And doing it together makes it a whole lot more fun.

I’m especially grateful for all of YOU.

For choosing this little studio, supporting our instructors, welcoming new faces, laughing with us. For showing up.

Let’s have a wonderful November together.

See you at the studio!

Susie 🧑

PLANKSGIVING is BACK! πŸ¦ƒπŸ’ͺ

Serious About Strength. Not So Serious About Ourselves.

It’s officially that time of year again!

Our annual PLANKSGIVING challenge is underway, and if the early photo submissions are any indication, this year might be our most entertaining yet. πŸ˜‚

Here’s how it works:

  • November 1: Start with a 30-second plank.
  • Throughout November: Follow our daily plank progression.
  • Thanksgiving Day, November 26: Work toward one continuous 3-minute plank!
  • EVERYWHERE: At home, at the studio, on vacation, in your living room, or apparently underneath a giant skeleton bird. πŸ˜‚

Modify as needed! Forearms, hands, knees, whatever works for you. This is about building strength and consistency, not winning a competition.

And please, PLEASE send us your pictures!

We’re already collecting some pretty amazing submissions from instructors, members, family, and friends.

Oma is ready to show us all how it’s done. Coach Mookie has discovered his bestie Calvin is apparently a superhero AND a personal trainer. And Dennis may have some serious competition for the most creative plank from Ashton this year!

Follow along on Instagram and Facebook, tag @TheCyclingYogi, and let’s see where this challenge takes us!

Strong bodies. Strong community. Questionable plank locations. πŸ˜‚πŸ§‘

CLASS SPOTLIGHT: STRENGTH!

LET’S GET STRONG! πŸ’ͺ

Because strength is about so much more than muscles.

If you’ve been around TCY for a while, you know we’re big believers in strength training.

And not just because we love a good squat. (Although apparently we do. A LOT. πŸ˜‚)

Strength training helps us maintain muscle, support our joints, improve balance, and keep doing the things we love as we get older.

It’s about carrying your groceries. Getting up off the floor. Hiking that mountain. Playing with your grandkids. Traveling. Living independently.

It’s about building a body that supports the life you want to live.

The great thing about TCY? You have OPTIONS!

From Sculpt and Barre to HIIT, circuits, and our combination classes, there are plenty of ways to challenge yourself.

You don’t have to lift the heaviest weights or do the hardest workout in the room.

You just have to start where you are and keep showing up.

Haven’t tried one of our strength-focused classes lately?

Maybe November is your month! πŸ’ͺ🧑

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: BIG MILESTONES! πŸŽ‰

October was another BIG month for milestones at TCY! Four of our members hit some pretty amazing class counts, and we have to celebrate them! πŸ‘πŸ» (and apparently take their pictures…production crew has been slacking!)

Rhonda B β€” 100 classes! πŸ’―
Kelli N
β€” 100 classes! πŸ’―
Katie S
β€” 100 classes! πŸ’―
Megan H
β€” 250 classes! πŸ”₯

That’s a whole lot of showing up. πŸ˜‚

These numbers represent so much more than classes taken. They’re early mornings, busy days when it would have been easier to skip, trying hard things, getting stronger, and choosing to keep coming back.

Congratulations to all four of you! We are so grateful you choose to spend so many of those hours with us. 🧑

Who’s hitting the next milestone?! πŸ™ŒπŸ»

COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT: THIS ONE’S FOR YOU! 🧑

November is the month of gratitude, and we couldn’t let it pass without saying THANK YOU.

To our early birds who show up before the sun.

To our evening crew who somehow find the energy after a long day.

To our longtime members who have been with us through schedule changes, new instructors, new classes, and everything in between.

To our newest members who took a chance on a little studio they may not have even known existed a few months ago.

And to our incredible instructors and front desk team who make this place feel like home.

YOU are what makes TCY special.

It’s not the bikes, the weights, the yoga mats, or even our beloved lavender towels. (I KNOW…those towels DO NOT SUCK! πŸ˜‚)

It’s the people.

And we’re grateful for every single one of you.

THANK YOU for being part of our TCY family. 🧑

THANKSGIVING MORNING AT TCY! πŸ¦ƒ

Before the turkey, the stuffing, the pie, and the inevitable food coma…how about a little movement? πŸ˜‚

We’re planning a special Thanksgiving morning lineup so you can get your sweat, stretch, and gratitude in before the festivities begin!

Our proposed schedule:

8:00 AM β€” Barre or Sculpt

9:00 AM β€” Cycle

10:00 AM β€” Yoga

We’ll confirm the final lineup and instructors in Walla, so keep an eye on the schedule and reserve your spot once classes are posted!

Come move with us, say hello to your TCY friends, and start your Thanksgiving feeling GOOD.

And yes…we’ll be celebrating our 3-minute Planksgiving finale, too! πŸ’ͺπŸ¦ƒ

A LITTLE STUDIO REMINDER 🧑

As we head into the busy holiday season, here’s your friendly reminder to BOOK YOUR CLASSES EARLY! πŸ™πŸ»

Holiday schedules can get a little unpredictable, and early registration helps us plan classes and instructor coverage.

Remember, if only one person is registered an hour before class, that class will be canceled.

So if you’re planning to come…sign up!

And if you’re traveling, don’t forget you can still join our Planksgiving challenge from wherever you are.

No excuses. Oma’s watching. πŸ˜‚πŸ’ͺ

And that’s November! πŸ¦ƒπŸ§‘

A month to move, get stronger, laugh a little, and remember how lucky we are to have this community.

Whatever this season looks like for you…busy, exciting, stressful, joyful, or a little bit of everything, I hope you find time for the things that make you feel good.

Thank you for being here.

Thank you for showing up.

And thank you for making The Cycling Yogi such a special little place.

Happy Thanksgiving, TCY family!

With gratitude (and probably sore abs),

Susie 🧑
